Location and Set Design

As we are not using the Peppercorns stage as the set for the music video, we are using the school hall.
I went and looked at the school hall yesterday with Heidi to try and think of some ideas for the design of the set, as with limited time and no budget, this is tricky.
The backdrop on the stage already is a Top of the Pops one, with music related objects and pictures on it. There is also a 1920's black and white backdrop.
But for our music video, I think a plain backdrop would be best as the band want to sell themselves to the pub scene – so simply presenting themselves performing – and have the band look cool and make them stand out against a plain background.
I have looked into renting a backdrop for the filming, but this is expensive and probably not possible.
